This year, I started a series called #EIMCDivergents on the EIMC Instagram and I'm glad it exists for young folks to see and feel inspired by.

One of the people I've featured as part of it, Simona Terron told me this excellent thing that I couldn't help but share on #ChildrensDay #India ::

“How is marriage or having kids a guarantee that you will not be lonely or be financially stable?

These aspects are not a safety net and it is misleading to think so.”

(ctd.)

“Marry because you are in love with them and not because they are a safety blanket.

Have kids because you want to raise amazing human beings, not because you want someone to take care of you in your old age.”

At the end of the day, the East Indians of North Konkan are just another Indian community, with the same hangups and conditioning regarding families/relationships, etc.

So I'm ready for more people who think like Simona, please & for a mindset like this to be the new normal.
