in chat when someone was making ridiculous claims.
And this of course was interpreted as a racial slur by several Americans who apparently could not parse the /me portion _or_ find a dictionary to look up the word.

ashwin@colon_three @Gargron so a while back I had conducted an experiment. The phrase “tired. I want to kill myself”, or something along similar lines, got an instant suspension on the birdsite. Account features disabled and no way for you to reach out to people (if it was needed). And the algorithm was more active on female sounding names. I switched my name and posted, resulting in instant disable. I haven’t seen a feature that was so dumb.
