#introduction #india I'm a computer programmer, community organiser and digital rights activist based in Bangalore, India.

Growing up as a lonely, bullied kid in the 90s, I found solace in books, computers, and later, the online world. In my quest to find belonging, never quite fulfilled, I've been involved with various communities over the years. A biography in toots:

Welcome @jackerhack 🎉 That's one hell of a journey ✊ Deep respect for all your movements and fights but I have just one question. How come we see you creating an account in #Fediverse so late after the exodus have joined. Normal expectation would be that you joined 2 years back 🤔

@pavi When signing up, I checked for an existing account and was surprised to find none. Maybe it was on a different host and it's lost somewhere in my password manager.

FWIW, I have copycat fatigue as well. Diaspora ruined the "same same but different management" take on these things.

@jackerhack @pavi I have the same thing, I had, probably have an account of fsmi.social still. Also have an account on diasp.in but hardly visit there :(

@jackerhack I understand the copycat fatigue after Diaspora*. Many people didn't join mastodon or similar services for the same reason.

The difference here is mass adoption, coming with a mobile app at the right time when it became very easy to spin up an instance. Regarding recent exodus, this is because of birdsite stupidity. They definitely deserve this. 😆
