Good that alternatives like Mastodon exist. Decentralized social media is the need of the hour.

Facesite and Birdsite have entirely too much power to censor content, run ads which suit them, target people with specific messages and shape conversations.

Maybe this is where the future is at. Maybe.

Power should be back in the hands of the people
The digital revolution requires people to move to open source software and platform
And if possible donate or support via code contribution.
A good start is to always switch your daily drivers such as ms office to Libre office etc. first on a personal level and then push for it in corporate circles.
