hey would it be a bad idea for someone to give themselves argyria on purpose
this is or could be taken as a serious question, by the way. obviously colloidal silver supplements do jack shit in terms of whatever supposed health benefit they're sold for but they're not yet proven to be so harmful that it would be a deal-breaker. i as a lay person don't see much difference between that and the same kind of risk-aware informed-consent shit i'm doing eith my hormones, honsstly.
i do wonder about the mechanism that causes argyria and if there's a way to safely utilize that, especially with other pigments. it's a point of dysphoria for A Lot of people and i think it's less than excellent that the only options for combating that right now are either extensive tattooing or very temporary things like armsocks and body paint

@vagabondsun There’s been a couple case studies on the topic suggesting silver deposits in the kidneys may be dangerous, but it’s unfortunately an underresearched topic. With argyria, silver builds up in the organs to a certain extent too, not just in the skin, which is why this *may* be the case...

It’s still an interesting idea, and I can’t say I’m not tempted too, though.
