Last night, I decided to change the filesystem on a removable 2TB USB drive from NTFS to EXT. I gave it the -c option to check for errors.

Came down this morning and mke2fs IS STILL GOING. 10% remaining, so I have to suffer this drive dangling from my laptop for a while longer.

@fitheach I've initiated a couple of actions on external USB drives and been trapped like that too just lately.

Thank heavens I didn't give it the -c -c double option or it would have been at it all weekend.
