GABAGOOL: RESURRECTION@garfiald the Mary Sue concept is because those writers were having their protagonists be exceptional in the wrong ways (unconventionally attractive, friends with everyone, creative, solves problems with lateral thinking) instead of the correct one (grizzled, barely tolerated, single-minded, solves every problem with a sword or a gun)
