liberals will never understand:

1) electoral politics are optimal for incremental change. their purpose is to prevent radical deviation from the status quo. this is why, as useful as bernie & corbyn have been for de-stigmatizing the left, any truly leftist movements can't be voted into action.

2) to overturn capitalist systems, a people's revolution must come from the bottom and will be met with [violent] oppression. this is why leftist groups cannot rule out a militant aspect to their theory

3) if you are a pearl-clutching type of person who prefers peace over potentially violent justice, you're not actually morally good; you're self-gratifying moral garbage.

4) if you truly do support justice by any means, you have nothing to lose with leftist politics; capitalism is inherently violent through exploitation of land, labor, and people, and any leftist movements are attempts to resist and overthrow those oppressive systems

@edotjpg ...disagree with 2. It is why we need to keep it in acount.
There are many tactic. One could also be to influene police and military.
(yes if there would be a power vacum they might just step in it again....so their internal structure has also to change)
@paulfree14 i agree on keeping militant forces accountable, but the current structure of the police and military under the state inherently serve capitalist/imperialist interests. while it's possible to influence individual people in those forces, the forces themselves are built into the system that needs to be replaced. by extension, those forces must also be replaced. militant socialist watchgroups & community patrol systems are the strongest alternatives
