I'm trying an experiment where I just talk about trans shit around cis people without, like, specifically trying to avoid it, and letting them be awkward about if they wanna be awkward about it (which is not very often so far).

Seems only fair, cis society gets gender on me all the time. :P

@anaisbetts honestly I hate discussing Gender As A Concept with trans people just as much as I do with cis people, I just wanna live my fuckin life -- this is more about not self-censoring and worrying less about reactions

@relsqui me too but the problem is that unless you take the time to explain it all, many people will get it horribly misunderstood, or like treat you with the "Oh we're so sad for you and your terrible predicament" and you become this pariah

@anaisbetts yeah. being able to cover as cis is definitely double edged in that regard
