This might be a very niche irritation, but I hate it when I'm sharing a space with a stranger or acquaintance, both doing our own separate things, and they say "I'll be out of your way in a minute."

Because I think what it means is: "I'll be quicker than you to finish my task, so please just wait until I finish, because the idea that we could work around each other, share the space and maybe both be slightly slowed down by the other is unacceptable to me."

In other words, it's just a polite way of saying: "Get out of MY way."
