anybody here want to start a gay #solarpunk #permaculture utopia with me?
@loonamoon i have a hydroponic garden i can contribute
@tiniest_kitten omf i'm so jealous! i would love to have a hydroponic garden, i've been starting to collect plants and just learn how to take care of them...
@loonamoon its actually pretty simple once you assemble all the materials! if you do it outside the bare minimum requirements are like, a storage tote, chemicals, net cups, grow media and water. i started cuz most of my backyard is concrete and i wanted more plants, and its worked out really well so far!
@tiniest_kitten oh that's so cool! i'm in college dorms rn + uhhh winter but i might try and make one when i'm at home over the summer. do u have any tips for getting planty in a small indoor space?
@loonamoon a grow light would be a good start, even tho the plants will grow in sunlight, theyll lean towards the window and grow lopsided.leafy greens grow best with hydro methods, the kratky method being the cheapest/most passive since it doesnt require an air pump or anything. id start with herbs like thyme or basil since theyre small, and you could even stack them if you wanted to DIY a shelf system of some sort. PVC pipes are cheap and sturdy and can be cut with a hand saw.
@loonamoon i get my inspiration from Jeb Gardener on youtube, his videos are both informative and entertaining, if you wanna check that out!
