so im more or less just checking bumblr for peeps i follow to see if they have other places i can follow them at.

because everyone is leaving that site the bugs are running rampent over there. posts don't post to blogs but they show up on the dash - is one such bug. that, because it was such a busy site, it went under the radar till now.

and people are noticing other bugs too. getting notified that a post was made when no post was made was one that i had to deal with. it was just renotifying me of old posts that ive already seen. or it would legit get my hopes up with a notification that someone liked my shit when that wasnt actually the case. it was like it'll show that the same person "reliked" or "re-rebloged" something half a dozen time before it would just stop.
this reminds me of the whole #deletefacebook motion that happened a while back. when that site had a mass exodus and took a major hit. im kind of enjoying seeing tumblr suffer now too...
@LensaMoon plus there are these bugs that are a direct result of their ban initiative - i.e. moving reviewed posts to the front of the blog for. some fucking reason. i know one webcomic who posted their stuff on tumblr. the order of the comic on tumblr is completely fucked because of this.

@renardroi yep. i follow several webcomic artist there and they all are having to deal with that.

which is why im glad most of them have a second option for viewing their stuff that isn't gonna be turned on its head at the slightest problem and inconvenience

@LensaMoon I want to continue to check tumblr for those people who are still in the process of moving etc like you said but. its really hard because I also see posts from people who are like. downplaying how bad this is for everyone and stubbornly refusing to leave and idk. just makes me mad!

@renardroi i'd say just let em be. if they don't want to see it. then it's gonna take #bumblr officially shutting down to get them to move on out.

that being said there are people who aren't being directly effected in some way so it's easier for them to over look and "poo poo" those directly effected.

its fucking shitty but when tumblr can be the only thing you've known for years (which happens) its hard to let things go. its like Stockholm syndrome internet style.

@LensaMoon dumblr is a glitchy mess. if you dont have the xkit extension? it's almost impossible to really use the website

@veronica a site like that shouldnt have to rely on out side help to function honestly. so that right there tell you that #bumblr is just horribly managed on a codeing level.

and thats not even touching on all the other glaring issues with the staff.

@LensaMoon I remember when "missing e" was a thing and then staff essentially forced them out so that extension stopped working. then the original xkit guy saved the day but he was ran out too. thankfully the people working on xkit now are still around but once they're gone? nah. bye bye everyone else that stayed
@veronica oof. lol i dont remember that. then again i go through like months of never posting there and then coming back and seeing the after math posts of what went down. something always fucking happens there. its rediculous
@LensaMoon yeah i've been on that hellsite for a LONG time 😅 but honestly speaking with people, a lot of us are still going to try and stick it out. for me though, once xkit is dead? im gone. i rely on xkit to help keep my blogs organized and my dash clean so without it? nah, no thanks dumblr

@veronica for me i keep going through bouts of maybe its gotten better, lets go check it out.

i go back for a few months or so see that nothing had substantially changed while still posting to my main sites (like this one) and then i just say "nah" to bumblr for the umpteenth time. lol

i never bothered with xkit. mainly cause there was no real understanding to what it did in the first place. so i automatically didnt trust it

@LensaMoon the only good thing dumblr did recently was add in the instant messaging system
@veronica i guess. lol but like it was never a comfortable experience trying to talk to people on there. there is always this underlying current on anxious negativity that makes it near impossible for properly communicating with others
@LensaMoon oh absolutely! sometimes I still cant believe I met my good friends on that website. I only ever liked the messaging system because then I didn't have to give people that wanted to rp with me or just talk about general stuff my skype or discord. only my friends have those accounts.

@veronica i was never able to get to the point of making friends there....

in fact most anyone i ever tried to talk to on there just fucking snowed me so i stop trying...

@LensaMoon shit that sucks :/ i only got to that point because I was in the rp world and not the regular fandom world. it was easier to form friendships with other rpers cuz we were writing together a lot. otherwise, if you were just in a normal non-rp fandom? it was definitely a lot harder unless the fandom was small. even then it's questionable if friendships happen

@veronica probably why i like this place a whole hell of a lot more then any other. people actually fucking talk to each other. and its nice. i met some pretty nice peeps here.

i feel like finding friends on bumblr will always be questionable. lol that not so say they cant be genuine tho.

@LensaMoon I totally agree though. the people I met on dumblr that I call my friends? I only got comfortable calling them that after months of talking frequently. but honestly, it's great that this place exists
@veronica yea. it is. 😁 i am honestly glad my friend (irl) suggested i join masto even tho i acted like a stubborn mute at first. lol
