John Smith goes to warm Pocahontas of the impending attack.

Ok. Points for him. But will he actually put his life on the line?
Pocahontas being sadder about John Smith about to be executed than about Kocoum being killed is some bull.
The false equivalency in the Savages song is real #AllLivesMatter-ish.

Alright. So. I told the REAL story of Pocahontas to the kids after the movie.
Pocahontas was around 10 when she met John Smith. She played around Jamestown; and helped deliver food to the settlement as the white people starved. Smith took the credit.
Smith, with his dumb self, got blown up while transporting gunpowder in a canoe, and got sent back to England.
When she was 16, Pocahontas was tricked into being kidnapped by white people during their war with her father, Powhatan.
The colonists demanded Powhatan release white prisoners and turn over seized guns and metal weapons.
Powhatan turned over the white prisoners and some weapons; but kept weapons which he claimed had been fairly traded.
The white people angered, and refused to let Pocahontas go.
Supposedly (as written by white people) Pocahontas was mad that her father didn’t see her as valuable as the weapons, and “elected” to stay with the white people.
Conveniently after Powhatan did almost everything the colonists asked him to.
