I really hate it when people say
" #Google it", I get a vision of someone marching around waving a flag. These are not just family that say it but schools, colleges, other influential institutions.
Why not just say #Internetsearchit or something? Then at least that way your not being boisterous and seem like you're attempting to convert ppl.
@TesEkMa even Google doesn't like 'googling' to be a verb for anything else than actually using Google Search, because it hurts their trademark rights: https://googleblog.blogspot.com/2006/10/do-you-google.html
Having been an early evangelist for Google Search back when it was significantly better than any other alternative out there, I still catch myself often using 'google' as a verb too and try my best to replace it with something like 'searching' or 'online search' or 'Internet search'.
It doesn't sound as catchy though...
