@tootapp Will there be further updates via TestFlight or will TestFlight users have to update to the AppStore version? :)
@georgehrke No updates for now, at least. Maybe some future larger update, I am not sure.
@tootapp ok, then I will go ahead and purchase the App Store version! Thx for this great app
@tootapp Is there something special I have to do if I was beta-testing if I want to install 1.0? Or will betas via TestFlight continue to arrive?
@Xjs They won't, because it unfortunately costs money.
@tootapp I see. I also get the feeling I should be able to pay for the 1.0, but the App Store only shows an »Update« button that doesn't do anything when tapped. Do you know anything about how to remedy that? (Didn't want to uninstall the app on shaky train internet yet, that might work.) Maybe more people than just me have that problem, too :)
@Xjs Sounds like you might need to uninstall, from what other people are saying.
@tootapp I guess my account settings etc. will be gone then, too?
@Xjs You’ll have to re-login, yes. Browser may remember your login and make it quicker though.
@tootapp Hello! congrats on releasing the app! Could you add a darker theme ?
@tootapp should people who were in the beta re-download from the app store?
@tootapp is it in the EU STORE yet?
@tootapp nevermind, managed to find it!
@tootapp Is there a point to staying on the beta train? I've been really happy testing and wouldn't mind continuing to do so.
@zigg Won’t Ben any updates there for now. The actual app costs money, unfortunately.
@tootapp I don't mind paying for an app this good. Mostly, I was curious if you planned to use TestFlight for any post-1.0 stuff.
@zigg Possibly sometime later, but not in the near future. I’ll announce it whenever it happens if so!
@tootapp Will it work with Pleroma?
@brz I’ve had reports that it does, but it’s not a development focus. Ideally, Pleroma will make sure they follow the API and then it will automatically work.
@tootapp I don't see it yet. Is it limited to certain regions for now or don't I see it because I'm in the beta?
@tootapp Nvm. Had to uninstall the beta to see the release.
@tootapp congrats on the release!!! :)
@tootapp are there any plans for an android version for people who can't afford a smartphone for 1.000 bucks or a mobile contract for 50 bucks per month? >_>
@Olivar Not really, unfortunately. This is designed entirely with iOS APIs, which don't translate easily at all. Check out Tusky, that's the one I hear most people mention they are happy with on Android.
@tootapp
Is there any chance that an Android version will arrive in the future?
@realdroid Not really, unfortunately. This is designed entirely with iOS APIs, which don't translate easily at all.
@tootapp it’s really, really neat! Keep up the good work!
@tootapp congrats on the release! Thanks for all the hard work and for the great app
@tootapp is there a white on black mode? All the screenshots are black text on white background.
@smurf Not yet, but it is planned, possibly for the next version.
@tootapp Does Toot have or do you have plans to add local & federated timelines, profile metadata support, or a dark theme?
@violetkitty Have all except the dark theme, which will hopefully be in 1.1.
@tootapp out of interest does it support Pleroma or is it currently restricted to only Mastodon instances?
@carbontwelve I am not actively supporting it but people report it seems to work.
@tootapp @carbontwelve I'm using it with a small Pleroma instance hosted on a Raspberry Pi in my living room and it works so far :)
@optikfluffel @tootapp that's good to know. I'm running this instance off an ARM server too 👍
@tootapp Really liking the app so far, thank you for this! The animations are all just right; not too much, not too little.
@tootapp Hmm, getting an error when trying to login to mastodon.scot through the app. Popped back to Safari and could log in just fine! Not entirely ruling out the problem being with the instance (that I admin) but thought I'd let you know.
@tootapp Interesting, when I try again by tapping Home it goes back to the 'you need to authorise' screen, but of course I'm already logged in via Safari. Now I get the 'authorise' button instead of login prompt, and it all works. https://mastodon.scot/media/BCvZljnB29AAkJo7y9I https://mastodon.scot/media/vFbBvr1P34yh1ZfST20
@tootapp this is really solid, I’m switching. Great 1.0
Happy to purchase a really nice client and support the dev. Been using the beta for a while and even though I tried other clients I kept coming back to @tootapp

@tootapp
Are the colored branches on the left of comments here to show the responses tree?

It looks really cute ❤️
(Hophully in big threads it wont grow too wide :s)

@Zykino It is, yes. And in big trees, it just gets clipped, which isn't wonderful but is arguably better than crowding the text off the screen.

@tootapp
Nice 😄

Did you see what #Slide for Reddit is doing?
It indent (2px) each sub comments and have a color code to know how deep the comment is. More practical maybe but less beautiful than your trees.

I wonder if its feasible for the fediverse (comments are sorted by discussions not time).

Anyway I would love to have an equivalent on my Android app of choice: #mastalab
#mastalabsuggestion : showing who respond to who in comments.

@Zykino I've never found indentation to be very useful for following a discussion tree. It works fine while going into a branch, but once you read further, you completely lose track of what is replying to what. The point of the subway map lines is to make it easier to backtrack and finding parent posts.

@tootapp
At least it's better than no differentiations at all (I hate hollowing discussions in forums)

If I had an Apple device I would test your app just to try this and feel what works best for me. 😁

@tootapp any plans on making the font size adjustable? I like my “reading” font size a little bigger than “system standard”
@kvltjam Possibly. The theming engine does theoretically support it, but variable font sizes tend to wreak havoc with layouts, so I’ll have to see if it’s feasible.
@tootapp it would be great for old, worn-down eyes such as mine! Thanks.
@tootapp are the “Edit Profile” and “Settings” links on the profile page supposed to do something? They don’t trigger any actions for me.
@kvltjam No, not implemented yet, and I forgot to disable them for the release.
