So I can finally talk about this. :)

I'll be teaching a university course on digital photography with a side of creative coding this fall...

and I will be doing so using open sourced software.

@eylul I have just installed Linux on an old Windows 10 PC and am starting to play with #artwithopensource. Any recommendations for photography software?

@Multiclass_Geek
several :)

@GIMP Digital art and photography software. (photoshop-like) Has been around forever, had a recent major update.

#Darktable / #RawTherapee raw editing and non-destructive image editing programs.(Lightroom-like) (a lot of my work at #editbacklog tag uses darktable)

#GMIC cutting edge filters. Can be used stand-alone or as gimp plugins.

some specialized tools:

#hugin panorama software (a bit obscure but powerful)

#siril for astrophotography needs.

@Multiclass_Geek also

discuss.pixls.us has become a hub of sorts for all things related to FLOSS photography. :)

@eylul Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them out!

@Multiclass_Geek @eylul I'll add #fotoxx to the list as well - it's more like a swiss army knife for photography
