It might just be X / Cinnamon freaking out about the hot-swap of the keyboard...

or I might be having signal strength issues while working in wireless mode; concerned about the all-metal chassis and wireless signal strength.

I'll do some work in emacs in the terminal and see how that feels.

also emacs needs a lemmy / mastodon client...and it's already a thing.
