In a couple of days, I will have formally spent 13 full years with Rappler and will be starting year 14.

Zoom call for work. Someone asked me if I had any exciting plans for the weekend. I don’t, so I said “nope”. He seemed genuinely stumped with my response. I mean, I’m not going to make something up. This is a pretty common question at the beginning of meetings on a Friday. Do people actually lie when asked this question?

So… just tried using AI to help me complete a GDPR quiz I needed to do for work. It got 70%.

My motivation for doing this is morally questionable. But the results are interesting.

I had a revelation last week. Me being me, I was super stressed about every day that passed being unemployed.

And then I realised (with the help my the budget my husband did and some other observations), it’ll be a long time before I get an extended break like this again.

So I reframed it to be: I’m taking an extended work break to recharge before diving back into my career and I’m now enjoying* being untethered for a while.

*Enjoying it maybe a little too much
