VuFind's out-of-the-box configuration is very bare bones, so with cataloger involvement, many more MARC fields are being displayed to the public compared to the original launch
Established the Catalog Development Advisory Working Group (aka "C-DAWG") to work with the back-end development team (the "public catalog" or "PUBCAT") and develop team priorities for VuFind functionality and display
MSU have two full-time staff members working in the Authorities Management unit ("They're just the best, they're really great at their jobs!")
"In Sierra, catalogers could instantly view their record in the public facing catalog ... But the lag time [in FOLIO] does mean less immediate checking of materials, and it's resulted in a reduced awareness of our MARC field displays. And when problems are noticed, changing how things are displayed is handled outside of technical services."
