#wodb brings the Reflecting on Practice group together... Or not.
(and some Canadians had to have Almond Joy explained to them)

Which one doesn't belong? No wrong answers, just explain your reasoning! #piDay2023 #wodb
🥧 Did you know Pi day is in ONE WEEK!? ➡️ We have some more fun pi/pie themed Launch/Number Sense routines coming your way that you can use in your classroom on Tuesday 3/14 to celebrate Pi Day with your students! #numbersenseroutines #MTBoS #ITeachMath #wodb
Number Sense Routines are a GREAT way to infuse fun into math. At ALN we call them Launch #ALNLaunch
Check out this #WODB that we created and shared on our instagram act. Which one do you think does NOT belong? Why?

All Learners Network on Instagram: "⏰ Launch is a great time to explore all areas of math! ❤️ At ALN, we talk a lot about the High Leverage Concepts - big mathematical concepts that we have identified that are critical for all students to conceptually understand in order to access the next grade level mathematics. ✅ However, this *doesn't* mean narrowing what you teach to only these concepts! We recommend starting your math block with a 5-15 minute number sense routine (we call this 🚀 Launch!); a perfect time to wrap in math concepts that you might not spend as much time on in other parts of your math block! 🕓 Clocks are SO fun to use for reasoning routines, and provide a much deeper way to think about telling time than just completing practice worksheets! 🤔Which one do YOU think doesn't belong? In this routine - there is no single correct answer... you could justify any of these as being the outlier, as long as you provide justification for why the other three DO belong! @virtuosew #WODB is a noticing game where there is a plausible reason for each of the options, so no wrong answers - it’s all about the reasons you give. That’s a good choice and a good reason for it. 😀

@robinhouston this was one of his suggested answers!

(#WODB, in case you don’t know it, is the game where it could be any of them and it’s all about the reasons.)

My son presents this and says: Which one doesn’t belong? #WODB
@Mathforlove
Bottom right is only one not equal to 5/6
Top left uses only concave polygons (& only one w/hexagons) [& only one whose 1/6 "units" nest -- so connecting 2 vertices crosses another piece.]
Top right 2 colors (also has concave, but mixed w/convex; its 1/6 units are convex.)

A #WODB with 21st Century Pattern Blocks.

From your point of view, which one doesn't belong?
Why not?
