korkealaI have a #kobo #ereader. I didn't use pocket on it, but when the support for it was discontinued, I had a look at it and it seemed useful. So I looked at alternatives, Kobo decided to provide support for #instapaper. I didn't want to use proprietary service for my bookmarks. #koreader supported some selhostable open source services like #wallbag and #readeck. So I installed #koreader and deployed a #readeck instance, configured the OPDS catalog to #koereader and it seems wonderful! I can enjoy reading my catalog on a good #ereader. 🥳
urig#Mozilla's unwise decision to kill its #pocket #bookmarking service has had a good effect on me.
I switched to #wallbag (foss: https://wallabag.org/) and am now paying a small monthly fee to host my bookmarks at https://wallabag.it/, without a big corp spying on me.
