Starting in 2009, my partner Nurri Kim and I conducted what we called “walkshops” in cities around the world, including London, Toronto, Wellington NZ & Barcelona — slow, considered, collective investigations of urban terrain, examining ways in which information was drawn off of that terrain, returned to it, or acted upon.
I’ve been really pleased to see a resurgence of interest in the walkshop idea lately, and so thought it might be interesting to dig up the free PDF on running walkshops we produced for Giles Lane’s Pamphleteer project in 2011. It’d be interesting to revisit the idea and see what if anything is still generative about it. https://bookleteer.com/book.html?id=1748#page/36/mode/1up
