Korg Mini-Pops 7 (1971) + Arturia BeatStep Pro (2019) + Tubbutec Unipulse (2023) = pure bliss.
It’s amazing how adding modern MIDI connectivity makes these vintage beatboxes come alive! You can see that the Unipulse allows you to sync the Korg perfectly to MIDI clock, as well as having it obey Start/Stop in the normal way, as well as mapping in the 12+ individual voices to the BeatStep triggers.

The Korg Mini-Pops 7 - the legendary Jarre drum machine from Oxygène. This is almost unique in having that “Quijada” sound. The original instrument is made from a donkey’s jawbone and teeth.
Sadly, this arrived very broken and inspection revealed it to be a decades-old cat pee victim. Now - it’s cleaned up and largely restored, and fully working again. We’ve also fitted the excellent @tubbutec Unipulse MIDI adaptor.

Going to visit a friend in the next few days gave me the incentive to get this sorted and buttoned up, so he can have a play 😊
So - power safety stuff done, MIDI voices now mapped in and wired in, and everything put back together. Just need some sort of plate for the connectors on the back.
