Ray Anderson (born October 16, 1952) is an American jazz trombonist. Trained by the Chicago Symphony trombonists, he is regarded as someone who pushes the limits of the instrument, including performing on alto and soprano trombone. He is a colleague of trombonist George E. Lewis. Anderson also plays sousaphone (marching tuba) and sings." Wikipedia

"This is a 1980 album by the American trombonist Ray Anderson,..The music on this album takes a unique and intriguing approach, blending elements of country/western with a twist of New Orleans jazz, creating a somewhat Western cowboy’s movie-inspired atmosphere. It has a quirky sensibility that bends and shapes the music in unexpected ways, reminiscent of the solo works of Lester Bowie from the Art Ensemble of Chicago, but with an even more unconventional touch. Listening to it is a thoroughly enjoyable experience." Organicmusic
