Yes, the game of 'let's just play with this AI thing' continues, month after month. This time the BBC interview someone from marketing for an SEO company. The AI and the SEO companies love this kind of attention, with their deliberately ineffective attempts to stop people using their products.

Also, someone should explain what the quoted "deindexing" was and whether it is actually effective in stopping AI agents from doing what they do.

Easy: do not fact check with a bot or LLM (AI).

THis is kind of a #trojan_ai story: introducing AI to make the story.

they are the next "don't do evil" self-promoters. Unlike search engines this kind of business tends to spiral into hyperbole and self-delusion before it faces its ultimate destiny as vapour-ware.

The Register is basically an Amazon-supported rag that likes to talk (and troll) more about using #AI agents than the alternatives. It's trading on the anti-AI vibe without offering anything but a sense of inevitability. For me, it goes on the #trojan_ai list.
