As a adult, you crave "the bear", looking everywhere for it and what tangibility it has. If you could find it, you could breathe again & feel present. The poet presents it as a motif of a mirror of your desires. Not of normality, but of more.
Craft Post (1/3): "When the Moon Had Antlers" (Pg.35-36)- By Tresha Faye Haefner (given consent in person by author to post). I went to Poetry Tap at Oden Brewing in Greensboro, NC & met Tresha and listened to her speak poems from her book.
I love how the poem starts with clarifying "the bear"- to me its purpose and passion, but up to interpretation. Immediately, I am captivated!
Starts with reminscing as a child- the bear is felt but not seen.
