Warner Highway

Warner Highway is the name of a section of Oregon Route 140 that runs east from Lakeview to the Nevada state line. It is part of the Warner Highway No. 431. It skirts the south end of Warner Valley and traverses the Doherty Slide, a steep and winding road that offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape. Warner Highway is named after the Warner Mountains, a range of volcanic peaks that straddle the Oregon-California border.

Rainier Roads

My first visit to this wonderful National Park. Going up the mountain it was still dark, so I didn't get to enjoy the beauty from the road until coming back down the mountain. There were several nice spots on the road where some fall foliage was showing its colors but the road was rather busy so it made it difficult to step out into the middle to capture this shot. Needless I found a spot and waited patiently on the side for a glimpse of no vehicles and darted out to the middle, quickly aim, focus and take the shot. (10/21/23)
