Along the Limes

Starting the day with a visit to the ruins of Aquincum, the Roman border settlement and origin of Budapest, and ending it on the Ister train, which is the Latin name for the Danube, part of the northern border of the Roman empire. It was a very Roman border themed day!

Finally managed to pass through Newcastle Central when Wobbly Aleways is open.

(Run by the same people as Wobbly Duck, the micropub in Old Eldon Square.)

Didn't have long to browse, but seems like a good mix of local and national breweries, plus a decent selection of European beers. I noticed German lagers and Belgian Trappist beers.

Made a quick choice for train beers (two I've never had) plus a snack…
