Adria Palace, in Budapest. This stunning Hungarian neo-baroque palace was built around 1900 as a shipping headquarters for coffee and flour trading.
When I visited a few years ago, most of the building was seemingly abandoned (or at least unused). A few apartments were clearly lived in, and music drifted from closed rooms where dim lights burnt.
Now it is under renovation; I believe it will open as a luxury hotel and retail space.
