I mostly get through it by compartmentalizing. It’s hard to enjoy something new and nice when the bigger picture seems so bleak. So, I gotta tune it all out to stay in the moment of a chocolate croissant, an affectionate dog, a beautiful sky, or a kind gesture. I would think the same would be true for falling in love at any age.

Because frankly, I’m exhausted trying to be good and make the world a better place. How old is too old to fall in love? To be excited about tomorrow bc there’s a new person to share it with? When are you too old to be idealistic and hope for something better? Just wondering…
