For the second time in my life I'm about to have the head of state formally installed in the country I live in and the people have had no say in the matter. Last time it was QE2 in Northern Ireland and this time it's KC3 in New Zealand.

I struggle with the idea that we live in a full democracy when there's this huge caveat that citizens can't aspire to be the head of state.

So I won't be swearing any "oath of allegiance" today or in future.

I have had enough of the Harry / William soap opera. I really could not care less about their fraternal rivalry.
For me the only take away is that it is time to be rid of this toxic family completely and move to a modern, elected, non-executive Head of State with no heirs, no spares, no extended family on bloated entourage to worry about and no being stuck with a duff one until they die.
