Probably most people who went to college in the late 1960s will recall someone or other who this song brings to mind. I'd bet a lot that author Stephen King and I would be thinking of the same person.

That might be about it, if not for this song's great verse about a magician. It is what drew me into this song and kept me there.

John Coster is one of my all-time favorite songwriters.
