Currently flooded Taree is contained in the electorate of Lyne.

Climate change is making these flooding events more frequent and more extreme. Likewise making more homes uninsurable.

I don't think we've heard a peep from MP Penfold.

To be fair to MP Penfold she has spoken to Sky News, which is why I've not heard anything about what she's been doing, which it turns out is a fair bit.

That being, I suppose talking about The Nationals' policies and ideological opposition of any action on climate change would be "politicising this tragedy".

They have a very specific whinge about renewable energy (solar and more so wind turbines) and their requirements for long distance high voltage transmission lines.

Apart from their ideological stance that they don't accept the science of climate change, I think it boils down to (again) some landowners and their NIMBYism against the "eyesore" (oh noes) of the above infrastructure.

They then take the ridiculous position that city people don't understand or wouldn't put up with such infrastructure in their backyard.
