So, it started with me being curious and trying to connect with a recently departed friend, @porsupah / Zoë, that I decided to give the classic PC puzzle game The 11th Hour another go after discovering it was something she had worked on in her career. As a huge fan of the first game, I had been disappointed that the sequel didn't grab me the same way the first had - though in fairness The 7th Guest was a sensation that helped boost sales of CD-drives and maybe the odd Philips CD-i at the time.

When you fire up the game (the GOG version at least) it also has a little "making of" section, which includes a bit on the technology behind it. I had hoped it might have had more info, so I ended up going down a rabbit-hole (appropriately enough, given her fursona) and stumbled upon this multi-part article on the rise and fall of Trilobyte.
It discusses The 11th Hour at length, but also a briefly touches on Clandestiny - another Trilobyte game, this time in a more kid-friendly cel-animation style - which she was also a programmer for.

Anyway, I thought folks might enjoy this really long-form 21 page article (looks like it was first scraped in 1999, but the one in 2006 has a lot of the screenshots and website artwork working)
