Nella notte dell'8 gennaio 2026 un uomo di 55 anni è deceduto mentre svolgeva un servizio di vigilanza notturna presso un cantiere di Cortina d'Ampezzo, riconducibile ai lavori per le Olimpiadi Invernali Milano-Cortina 2026. A seguito di una formale denuncia presentata dai familiari, l'Autorità Giudiziaria ha disposto il sequestro della salma e l'esecuzione dell'autopsia medico-legale, al fine di accertare con precisione le cause del decesso e le circostanze in cui è avvenuto. Il lavoratore era impegnato in un turno notturno, all'aperto, in condizioni climatiche particolarmente rigide. Secondo quanto riferito dai familiari, l'uomo avrebbe più volte manifestato preoccupazioni e lamentele in merito alle condizioni di lavoro, ai turni notturni prolungati e alla mancanza di adeguate tutele. Elementi che rendono necessario un approfondimento giudiziario e che riportano al centro dell'attenzione il tema della sicurezza e delle condizioni di lavoro nei cantieri e nei servizi collegati ai grandi eventi, in particolare in vista delle Olimpiadi Invernali del 2026. La famiglia, che ha conferito incarico all'Avv. Francesco Dragone del Foro di Lecce, chiede che venga fatta piena luce sull'accaduto e che nessuna morte sul lavoro venga trattata come un evento privato o inevitabile.

On the night of January 8, 2026, a 55-year-old man died while performing a nighttime surveillance duty at a construction site in Cortina d'Ampezzo, linked to the work for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Following a formal complaint filed by his family, the judicial authorities ordered the seizure of the body and the execution of a forensic autopsy, in order to precisely determine the cause of death and the circumstances in which it occurred. The worker was on a nighttime shift, outdoors, under particularly harsh weather conditions. According to his family, the man had repeatedly expressed concerns and complaints about the working conditions, extended nighttime shifts, and the lack of adequate protections. Elements that necessitate a judicial investigation and that bring the issue of safety and working conditions on construction sites and related services for major events back to the center of attention, particularly in view of the 2026 Winter Olympics. The family, who had appointed lawyer Francesco Dragone of the Lecce Bar, requests that the circumstances of the event be fully illuminated and that no death at work be treated as a private or inevitable event.
