The good news: I managed to successfully hack it with #AYAB - and it now connects to my computer, transforming it into an open source textile pixel printer. Yay!
Munich Maker Lab e.V.One of our members picked up a second-hand Empisal Knitmaster 600 and got it running. A few hurdles at first, but the fabric quality coming out of this vintage machine is really great. Old iron, new creations!

Craft update! Got to play with punch cards and vintage knitting machines today at @codaapeldoorn with @ekkiestudio. Still dreaming of a potential #textilehacking assembly at #40c3. Next step is to procure a knitting machine and hack it myself - how hard can that be?
