This tree-covered mound stands above the #FirstEmperortomb, built in the 3rd century BC and still unexcavated. The #terracottaarmy stood guard underground in the fields east of the mound.
The #TerracottaArmy was found on #ThisDayInHistory in 1974 by local farmers. ~8000 life-size ceramic warriors filled pits around the tomb of #QinShiHuang, the first emperor of #China. Court figures have since been found in different pits but the tomb itself remains unexplored.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ This (replica) Terracotta Army features over 200 figures, including soldiers, generals, and horses.

These are plaster replicas of the famous sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China. This collection is one of several such replicas scattered around the world. In the mid-2000s, we toured these specific replicas around Germany before storing them in this now-abandoned German industrial site.
