Part 3
Short video of the ride with the train from Kanasashi to Kakegawa.

The tenryu hamanako line meanders along the built-up area and the "wilderness".

From Kanasashi I took the Tenryu Hamanako Line to Kakegawa. As it seems they celebrated the 85. anniversary in 2025. The journey took just under an hour and a half in a single diesel railcar. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to take a picture of the train from the outside.

I got asked by an old lady in which direction the train is going.
As she was a local and I am definitely not, I guess she just wanted to talk with a foreigner once :)

Somehow, old rural railway stations worldwide have the same flair with their faded posters and timeless appearance.

They're like time capsules or miniature museums.

From Iinoyaee-gū, I went on for another 35 minutes to Kanasashi Station to get on the Tenryu Hamanako Line.

These small flags at the traffic lights are for schoolchildren to safely cross the zebra crossing.

Don't know if they are necessary.

I never felt more safe on the roads than in Japan so far.
It feels like Japanese drivers are considerate of pedestrians, while in Europe one is expected to give way to drivers.
