We are not questioning the framing in technology. We just accept the framing without questions. We mindlessly use branded words and accept established analogies without understanding the consequences.

#technojargon #grounding

@TimMaddog This is a great example of how words are not neutral and how framing manipulates us.

Dont accept the words given to us from authorities. Always question their framing!

I think it would be delightful if it was accessible to create and manage collection workpieces for cloudphones and tableclouds. That would enable people to store stuff much more easily.

Grounded to technojargon dictionary:
collection: database
workpiece: file
cloudphones: phones
tableclouds: tabletops
store: save
stuff: data
people: users

#DigitalIssues

I don't like the term internet, because it is #technojargon. Net/web is too vague. It could refer to anything.

Your association with other people can be concidered as a web, but that doesn't mean we call the collection of all people's associations internet. Cities and towns are connected through roads so we could call that a web and therefore the world wide road infrastructure the internet.

Internet carries no meaning and alienate us from the underlying structures.

#DigitalIssues

Technojargon prevents people from participating in digital issues discussions. This strictly implies that digital issues awareness is not available for most of the public.

Therefore it is important that we strive for language around technology to become more grounded.

#technojargon #unchaining

@fantazo Comfort may explain some of the reason why people doesn't choose unchaining software, however, I think the major reason for inaction is because of #technojargon. A language created to alienate us humans from technology. This way technology companies can serve us proprietary "user friendly" solutions that omit technojargon at the cost of our freedom.

Technoleftists biggest mistake was that we took their language uncritically.

But we can change that by challenging their language.

#DigitalIssues #activism

The reason we have so little progress in digital issues is because our language is fucking crap. Technojargon muddies the water more than anything. This means we cant do activism around it, because activism depends on usable language.

#technojargon

@owlchemist I personally believe #technojargon is the primary reason why we dont see progress in the digital. Unchained software, selfhosting, creative commons, right to repair and so on. That is why Im working on this.

#technojargon

Stop saying that the fediverse is built up of instances. That is not how it feels like. It doesnt reflect the experience. And this form of technojargon alienates people and make them feel its more complicated than it is.

Instead it is built up of societies. These societies are by default associating with other societies, but can choose to shun if it is deemed necessary.

The server client analogy doesn't make sense.

Just visualize.

There's the SERVER that contains the site and the server that serves the client. A client (xin) asks SERVER for a server and the server comes to the client. The server asks what xin wants. Xin wants to watch the "How to repair a unicycle" video. The server goes back to the SERVER and just shoot rays of video to the customer.
