Michael Pinsky is sinds september 2024 als artist-in-residence verbonden aan Waag Futurelab voor het project #STARTS4WaterII. Zijn werk ‘All the Tyres from Iceland’ bestaat uit twee imposante sculpturen gemaakt van gebruikte banden.

Het werk vertelt het verhaal van havens als de plek voor wereldhandel, materiaalgebruik en groene ambities. Het is tot 24 november te zien op de Y-helling van NDSM-werf.

Workshop June 13th @mozilla Festival House Amsterdam!

For all musicians/artists/researchers/technologists/humans interested in voice and the fast-moving and murky field of AI and voice data. It's my pleasure to invite you to join us June 13th for the workshop “The Values of Voice: Mapping Community Desires around Voice AI” at this year’s MozFest House Amsterdam, on June 13th at 3:30pm. #mozfest @mozilla #mozfesthouse2024NL

This workshop is an open invitation for all people who work with voice, in any way, to come together and collectively reflect on the meaning(s) of voice as it moves through different contexts, bodies, air, data and networks.

Excited to be co-facilitating this workshop with with ChaeYoung (Chae) Kim, whose artistic work of intimate publishing brings people together in clever and creative ways to reflect on complex and intimate topics!

Dear friends. I’ve been away from social media for a bit. But I’m back with an exciting announcement.

I’ve been selected as one of 10 resident artists for AIR, a residency programme of S+T+ARTS EU.

In my project, “Voicing Complexity”, I’ll work on creating new voice AI systems and composition approaches to give new sensitivities to complex infrastructures and phenomena. To make this happen I’ll be working with the spatial lab of PINA in Koper (Slovenia), to realize a fully immersive spatial audio experience, and with supercomputing centers in Stuttgart and Barcelona who specialize in understanding complexity. I’m also very happy to say I’ll be working again with the Intelligent Instruments Lab in Rekjavik.

I will do my best to post regular updates on the process here and on other socials in the coming months!
