WüSpace goes Wacken 🤘
We have been part of the SpaceCamp at #Wacken, as part of the #DGLR! Besides showing a lot of metalheads what student aerospace is all about, we got to meet ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst, many other actors in the german space sector, and our friends from BEARS, KSat, WARR, ERIG, and SPROG.
Huge thanks to #WackenOpenAir and #DGLR (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft- und Raumfahrt) for having us. You rock! 🫶

Come on, let’s light this candle!🚀🎥
#OTD in 1986, SpaceCamp blasted into theaters space-race adventure where a group of teens (and one robot) accidentally launches into orbit.
SpaceCamp was filmed in the Summer of 1985, the theatrical release suffered from bad timing and never stood a chance at the box office.
It's not just chemistry, though. He touches on rivalries between companies and federal division, standards set by bureaucrats (and their unintended consequences), and the intersection of the scientific method with random chance.
If you liked professional geekiness of The Martian (movie or book), then you'll love this.
Same for anyone who ever went to Space Camp. Like me. :)
I would like to leave the planet.
Alas, I cannot.
However, I AM attending Space Camp in January, and that feels like the next best thing.
If you would like to join me, I'd be delighted to have you.
