Comedian Jawad Es Soufi waits for me at the artist entrance of the theatre.
Jawas is a self made man: started his career on his own by posting videos on social media, then renting just by himself a big theatre for his first gig. Now he easily sells out all the big venues.

It’s early in the morning and the theatre is empty and all ours.

He is very friendly, calm and as all comdedians I have met he seems to be quite a serious person.

I unravel my blue backdrop - we have to start somewhere
„could you maybe stand on the chairs?”

After the shoot he is very helpful and even packing up my gear, while I’m on the phone with the PR person of my next appointment, I’m late
they’re annoyed, their schedule is tight,

„I’ll be there in 15 minutes!”
I know it’s a lie; I’ll never make it in 15 minutes

but they know I’m on this now

& they might forgive

(the other day I watched the movie „45 years”,
where the wife says ”Sorry I didn’t give you a present for our aniverssary, I wanted to give you a watch”
and the man replies” I like not knowing the time”)
