#wordweavers 2024 01-06. MC POV: What would you ask a Genie if you weren't sure how they'd interpret your words & believed they might trick you?

Maggie #Siebyn : "Jenny who?"

Me : *15min explaining Jinn & genies*

Maggie: " To quote mum "I wouldn't even ask them what the fuck the weather was like." Just really‽ Who in their shittin' right mind would ask for something when it'll likely go arse over teakettle?"

#PennedPossibilities 184- Do any of your characters believe in soulmates?

Well #TaRegi was the only one in the #tavernn for me to ask directly.
But, I won't ask her out of respect that the grief of loosing her husband periodically comes back out of the blue and just devastates her.
I don't want to accidentally set her to drowning by asking.

From the way she's talked about Pintac, and how she describe how she felt at the news of his death when she woke up from being unconscious for a month+.

I would say that she does. She might not have those words to describe it as such, but she does. You don't experience that level of despair and unmooring if you don't believe in something like soul mates.

Rook and her husband Sisa? ( #siebyn )
I don't know if they ascribe to the idea of soul mates, even if they are mad lil' love birds.
I don't know them well enough to wager a guess.
Their daughter Maggie? Probably not? She's has only had 2 maybe 3 relationships.Nothing long term or serious (at least none she's spoken of)

Nimue and Veil ( #531L ) Hell if I know, hell if they'd tell me if I asked.

#WordWeavers 2024 01-04: SC POV: How do you feel about family? Who do you consider family?

Sisa D. #Siebyn : "Well you've met my wife Rook, and our daughter Maggie. Asking me how do I feel about family is about as queer as asking a fish how they feel about water. They are everything to me.
Who do I consider family? Ahh, there is a question of prolific ponderings most philosophical.
The obvious observances are my wife. my daughter, my brother Lazlo, and Rook's aunt Ohgg. There's Captain Albie T’ross who I consider a sister to such degree I have open availability as alibi should she have need.
But that's about the extent of it.
When I traveled and performed with Carmine's Curious Caravan, we were tight knit, but it wasn't family. We were more of a ménage meted out by mere chance."

An offhand comment by a co-worker reminded me of the time step-grandma called me "A godless heathen."
Which I'm neither godless (I know many, I just don't directly worship any) nor a heathen (I am a #Witabr / #WitabrWitch )

This is more or less a place holder reminder to myself to ruminat about the spiritual beliefs of the characters I talk to.

#Writing #FantasyWriting

I know #TaRegi & Pintac's beliefs more or less

And Amara (#Dulcamara ) has unloaded A LOT about her and the Solanum Sisterhood.

But I don't think Dr. Nimue Anfarwol ( #531L ), or Maggie "Magpie" #Siebyn have told me much.

I know Nimue incorporated /some/ of her beliefs into the creation of Veil, but she's never detailed what.
