#art #history: shout out to chieko takamura, who was born 20 may 1886 & joined seitosha (the japanese feminist movement) in 1911. that same year, she made the cover illustration for the first issue of 'seito', seitosha's magazine.
hospitalised with schizophrenia at the age of 49, chieko died there from tuberculosis three years later.
