Why is it important to the story/character/stakes?
I don't know if every scene necessarily requires conflict, but there is nothing more boring than a scene where characters stand around and all agree with one another.

I'm embarrassed to say it took me WAY TOO LONG to realize this. You don't have to write in order, you don't have to always write scenes that will be part of the final story.
By rook or crook, just write the stuff you're excited about and let that momentum carry you through the 1st draft #Scriptsky

I was working on a spec pilot but yesterday I put it down and pivoted to a new idea. So I wanted to do this week’s #Scriptsky #Screenwriting thread on WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU’RE UNSURE HOW TO PROCEED WITH AN IDEA. i.e. I used to think this was a great idea but now I’m worried it might be dog shit!
