Some recent photos of my N-scale scratchbuilding project, a caboose (based on SP&S 771), and a photo of the prototype.

This actually happened a few weeks ago, only finally got around to posting it.

During the first playtest with my new hill terrain piece, it quickly became apparent that while the sloped hills looked nice, they were slightly too steep and most minis could not be stood on the slopes successfully.

I've begun the process of remodelling the slopes into rocky steps. Undercoat is on, but repainting is still needed.
I had a lot of fun scratch building with this one. I even made a little 1-to-2 cable splitter. ๐Ÿ˜„ The guitar cables are actually small wires which was perfect to use. It gives life to the scene. #Nerdlings #MiniaturePainting #ScratchBuilding

Last drybrush and I'm finished. The process works!

A dark grey wash to help bring everything together a little more.

Phew. The drybrushing really helps toning the garishness down a lot. Once again trusting the process has prevailed.

All six caves now primed with my paint, plaster and glue mix. It worked pretty well.

I added sand and little stones for extra texture. They are now at the same point as where I was with the original prototype.

Next step I plan to add a paint and plaster mix as a primer.

Progress in my scratch build. I built two full stacks of amps for my Edric base. #Nerdlings #MiniaturePainting #PaintingMinis #ScratchBuilding
