The vast majority of SemVer-breaking changes are caused by code changes that *look* simple and safe, but are *sneakily* causing breakage too.

- 55% of breakage is item deletions
- 25% of breakage is item *additions* that are (non-obviously!) breaking
- 10% is caused by auto-traits like Send + Sync

This is good news! It means tools like cargo-semver-checks can fix this.

I'm back home from #RustConf24, which was set in beautiful #montreal. I got to meet several people in person for the first time after having worked with them online for months or years. It was great! 😄 My talk about Rust Education at Scale should be online in a few weeks.

I had a few days to explore the city with my wife before the conference and we really enjoyed it! The view from Mount Royal was great and we tried some nice restaurants and bars in Old Montreal.

As the end nears for @rustconf we'd like to thank everyone involved for putting on a great conference.
