Sorry - here's another boring #HamRadio toot from G4SDZ

I've done something I've never done before in my 40 year #amateurradio life - I've been taking part in an RTTY contest.

I've never really got to grips with RTTY using the FLDigi software, but I think this afternoon I've cracked it.

13 contacts in the Mexican contest : 1 on 80m, 5 on 40m, 2 on 20m. Plus 5 USA stations on 10m - including Florida, Oklahoma & Tennessee which are rare states for me.

I enjoy giving contest points away, but haven't got the energy to enter properly any more.

For those not in the know
#RTTY is Radio Teletype it uses exactly the same transmission methods as old style mechanical teletype machines, but these days it's all done using software and computer generated tones.

Does RTTY Have Good Enough Guidance?

Y’all have seen the ARRL Band Chart. It’s ubiquitous. But it’s a woefully insufficient reference for RTTY contest weekends…
