Back from a short and very hot roadtrip to Arizona for my wife's birthday.
I didn't have a lot of free time but managed to get ArkOS installed on the #Anbernic #RG503 I got right before leaving town and test it out.
The stock firmware experience of this thing was awful and even after getting #ArkOS set up I haven't been able to get anything but PS1 & PSP games to load for some reason.
The main draw for me to get this #RetroGamingHandheld was the #OLED display, and this is what it looks like...
I bought the #Anbernic #RG503 on a whim last night.
I know about its shortcomings but it runs Linux, has an OLED display, and a better chip than the 40XXH I just returned.
I got it from Amazon for 135 USD after tax, which is a bit more than twice what I paid for the 40XXH, but $80 less than the price of the upcoming #Retroid Pocket Mini.
I may very well end up returning it but I wanted something interesting to take on a trip I'm going on this weekend.

The first two numbers in the name tell you the screen size. The last number tells you the chipset used.
For instance, the #RG351 series (3.5 inch screen, Rockchip RK3326 chipset) could play up to PS1 no problem, plus a bit of N64 and even a few PSP games.
Another example, the #RG503 (5" screen, RK3566), can play all N64 and more PSP.
The #RG35XX is an exception to the naming scheme. It can play up to PS1.
