Was gifted a #Canon EOS 30D by a friend - my 2nd DSLR, joining my #Olympus E500. I've not had a chance to put the 30D through its paces but looking forward to getting out there soon. Interested to see how the two cameras differ in terms of the feel of the photos they take

Playing around with tethered shooting using a #Canon EOS 30D #DSLR and #DarkTable on my Mac. Quite impressed that I can even connect a 20 year old camera to DarkTable, let alone control it remotely. Ok there's no live view but it's still pretty cool.

Shaped like a 3.5 floppy disk, but totally solid state. What is it? Not an SD card.

It is a SmartMedia card. This one has a massive 32MB capacity. It was used in digital cameras, digital audio recorders, even in music gear from companies like Roland and Boss.

But what is up with the shape?

The #Roland d-20 looks a little funny without its drive, but it works (as long as I don't try to save a sequence to the absent floppy disk). That's a Roland PG10 programming module sitting on top of the synth. It allows programming with much less menu diving than using only the buttons on the D20.
